Architectronica
November 2015, 2016, and 2017
Architectronica is an artistic showcase and a party: using new digital mediums and electronic music, we create a fun yet artistically and technically complex environment. The yearly event is organized by a multidisciplinary team of students and hosted by the Rice School of Architecture. I led the tech team developing lighting, projection mapping, and installation art for the event. The lights and installations respond to the physical space of the school building, transforming the white walls of an academic hall to a multicolored, interactive experience.
ANARCHI (2017)
For this year, I was focused on making spatial objects a critical part of the ambiance and transforming them with light. I mounted laser-cut triangle shapes onto a wall that and projection mapped onto them. I projection mapped onto a large, sculptural bench in the courtyard that was designed by Charles Renfro. I also incorporated illuminated geometric sculptures that invoke the form of a skyscraper.
MODEL SPACE (2016)
TABULA RASA (2015)
The projection mapping was accomplished using Resolume Arena. The generative visuals were created using Processing (a Java-based visual programming language) and Synesthesia. The lighting was programmed on an ETC Element lightboard.
